Side by Side for Students: Fight Club and Father’s Club Join Forces

A Shared Commitment to Youth
Recently, leaders from Fight Club and Father’s Club gathered at Nick and Jake’s in Overland Park to explore a deeper partnership rooted in a shared mission—to equip and empower the next generation. The meeting location was intentional: Nick and Jake’s co-owned by Kevin Timmons, has been a strong supporter of Fight Club, generously donating the meal for the organization’s spring fundraiser for the past two years.
Both Fight Club and Father’s Club have long been committed to supporting students, and the gathering was an intentional step toward combining strengths, resources, and ideas to maximize their collective impact.
Moments That Moved Us
The atmosphere was rich with connection as many personal stories were shared. One father told how Fight Club had literally saved his son’s life. Another man shared how serving as a Father’s Club leader has changed the way he approaches his own relationships with his children, giving him a new perspective and deeper connection with them.
Also, with us that day was Tiffany Whitney, mom to Ryan, one of the Olathe South students we lost this past year. When Tiffany shared Ryan’s story, it was a powerful reminder of why the work of Fight Club and Father’s Club matters so much. This gave one of the moms in attendance the chance to personally thank Tiffany for what she has done to support her son and the rest of Ryan’s close friends—including starting the Olathe South Boys Class of 2028 Fight Club group, giving them a safe place to be together, process their grief, and find support. These moments underscored the real-life impact both organizations are making—not just in students’ lives, but in families and communities as well.
Recognizing the Heart of the Olathe South Father’s Club
During the meeting, we took a moment to recognize and thank the Olathe South Father’s Club chapter for their extraordinary presence this past school year. In the wake of the tragic loss of two Olathe South students, this Father’s Club chapter stepped beyond its traditional role, showing up for the grieving student body in a deeply personal way. They spent time in the lunchroom during those difficult days, moving from table to table, talking with students, and simply being a steady, caring presence when it mattered most.
Partnership with Purpose
While both organizations share the same heart for youth, they bring different strengths to the table. Father’s Club is a long-established organization with strong relationships and active chapters in many schools across the Kansas City metro area. Fight Club, eager to grow its groups, sees an opportunity to benefit from the Father’s Club network by gaining introductions into these schools and inspiring more parent leaders to step up. In return, Fight Club is committed to reciprocating that support—coming alongside Father’s Club in areas where their help is needed. This mutual investment ensures that both groups can expand their reach, deepen their impact, and stand together in service to students.
Moving Forward in Unity
This partnership represents the best of community leadership—two distinct organizations, aligned in mission and heart, choosing to walk side-by-side for the good of our youth. Side by side, they are showing young people—and the community—that we are stronger together.
Fight Club is a space where young adults can openly talk about the issues they’re facing, without judgment or pressure. Have questions or want to learn more about Fight Club? We’re here to help. Whether you’re looking to join, a parent seeking more information, or someone interested in supporting our mission, don’t hesitate to reach out.
