Growing Together: Fight Club Expands into a New School Year

A New Season of Growth
As the 2025–26 school year begins, Fight Club is stepping into one of its most exciting seasons yet. With 13 active groups already thriving on the Kansas side of the metro area, including districts like Blue Valley, Olathe, and DeSoto, along with private schools such as Rockhurst, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Bishop Miege, our community continues to expand. Beyond the metro, Fight Club has reached new ground in Kentucky with a group at Cynthia High School, a clear sign that our mission is resonating well beyond our home region.
Building Momentum in Schools
The start of the school year has been a busy one for Fight Club leadership. We’ve been on the ground meeting students, leaders, and families at events like Louisburg High School’s Community Pep Rally and Olathe South High School’s Back to School Night. These moments allow us to share our mission and recruit new group leaders and members. Several new groups are launching this fall, including both boys’ and girls’ groups for students that attend Olathe South High School, expanding on their already strong Class of 2028 boys’ group. Blue Valley schools will also see growth, with a new freshman boys’ group that attends school at Blue Valley High and a junior boys’ group that attends school at Blue Valley Northwest.
Expanding Beyond High School
This season also marks an important milestone: Fight Club is branching out to reach middle school aged students with our very first eighth-grade group of boys that from St. Agnes. In addition, we’re moving into the Northland with three new groups for the Class of 2026, bringing together students from Liberty High School, Liberty North, and St. Pius. As summer ended, several of our alumni groups headed off to college, carrying the Fight Club mission with them. Ford Bevins, a former Blue Valley High Class of 2025 member, was even interviewed on the Kansas State University campus by a radio station eager to learn more about Fight Club. Inspired by Ford’s story, the station now plans to feature a regular segment promoting Fight Club and educating students on how to start groups on campus, marking an exciting step into the college level.
A Summer of Fun, a Year of Purpose
As groups launched into the school year, many wrapped up their summers with special events. Mike Anderson’s Class of 2207 group of Blue Valley Southwest boys enjoyed a Royals game together, celebrating friendship and kicking off the year with energy. Meanwhile, many Fight Club groups came together to participate in the Ryan Whitney Memorial Wiffle Ball Tournament, ending their summers with a powerful mix of fun, fellowship, and community impact. These shared experiences remind us of the heart of Fight Club: community, connection, and doing life together.
Join the Movement
It is truly an exciting time for Fight Club. While we continue to expand into new communities and connect with more students, it’s important to note that Fight Club groups are not run by schools themselves. Instead, our groups are simply made up of students who attend those schools and choose to gather together outside of the classroom. This allows us to stay true to our mission—creating spaces where teens can belong, build meaningful friendships, and walk through life together. If you’re looking for a group to join, are interested in becoming a leader, or simply want to learn more, we’d love to hear from you. The journey is just beginning, and we want you to be part of it.
Fight Club is a space where young adults can openly talk about the issues they’re facing, without judgment or pressure. Have questions or want to learn more about Fight Club? We’re here to help. Whether you’re looking to join, a parent seeking more information, or someone interested in supporting our mission, don’t hesitate to reach out.
