Holiday Cheer in Every Circle: How Fight Club Groups Are Celebrating the Season Together

Bringing the Holidays Into Fight Club
This December, all 31 Fight Club groups are kicking off the holidays together, filling their regular meetings with extra warmth, connection, and celebration. While each group has its own unique rhythm and personality, they’re all leaning into the spirit of the season in ways that make everyone feel welcomed and supported. For many teens, Fight Club is already a safe space and this month, it’s a festive one too!

A Month of Festivities, Laughter, and Light
Across the Kansas City metro, groups are adding Christmas cheer and holiday fun to their weekly gatherings. Some are hosting ugly sweater contests, white elephant gift exchanges, or planning fancier-than-usual dinners to make the season feel extra special. But above all, the focus remains on what matters most to Fight Club: connection, belonging, and sharing.

Supporting Teens Through Seasonal Challenges
While December is joyful for many, we also recognize it can be a complicated and emotional time, especially for teenagers. Seasonal depression and holiday stress are very real, and Fight Club remains committed to showing up for teens when they need it most. This month, many of the licensed therapists and mental health professionals we partner with are attending group meetings to offer additional support, insight, and encouragement. They’re taking time to talk openly about emotional health, coping tools, and the importance of asking for help.

A Season of Connection and Encouragement
Throughout December, counselors and Fight Club leaders are helping teens recognize that it’s okay to feel a mix of emotions during the holidays. They’re sharing practical strategies for managing stress, inviting honest conversations, and reminding every member that they’re not alone, no matter what the season brings. It’s a powerful blend of celebration and care, making each Fight Club gathering a little brighter.

Together, Through Every Season
As the holidays unfold, our Fight Club groups are proving once again that community makes all the difference. Whether through silly sweaters, heartfelt conversations, shared meals, or moments of reflection, teens are finding belonging and strength in their circles. This month, we’re not just celebrating the holidays, we’re celebrating what Fight Club is all about: connection, courage, and showing up for each other because no one fights alone!

Fight Club is a space where young adults can openly talk about the issues they’re facing, without judgment or pressure. Have questions or want to learn more about Fight Club? We’re here to help.
